Well, how does one describe himself. I am 25 years old,and to
this day I have not found a better reason to live than to
play music. Music has the power to infuence moods, inspirations, and
to bring out every kind of emotion in a person. It also has a great
power to make musicians broke. *Hehe* For this reason, I have
dedicated my life to the betterment of our band in hope that one day
it will support us. Instead of the other way around! I see myself as a
stand-up person who is not afraid to speak out for what I believe is
right. I can tell you without hesitation that if you fail to follow a
dream, then it will always be, just a dream..
Currently I sing lead vocals for the band, although I do write guitar as well
I believe that metal has been somewhat shunned in the past few years.
Bands like Slayer, Pantera, and Sepultura are not getting the kind of
shows that they used to. I am hoping that by getting Osmium off the
ground, we will help to bring metal back before it is ultimately lost
forever. The world needs this kind of music and it wouldn't be fair to
deny them of it.
PAUL
At 20, I am finally not the youngest member. Our new bassist takes
that honor now. I've been playing drums for about 3 1/2 years and
now with the addition of my new set, I can do things I only dreamed
of 6 months earlier. I play a Tama 9 piece with custom kickers and
Zildjian cymbals all the way around. This set fits me like a parka. It
may look big and overwhelming, but for the person who wears it, it's
absolutely perfect.
With the additions of some kick ass members, our style has grown to
be even more undeniable. Few can match our sound and intensity.
We may sound like we have big heads, but if you believe in your
music as much as we do ours, you couldn't help but look like you
have a big head too. As most of you don't know Dave Lombardo is
my main influence. His attacking style of drumming is what made me
want to play drums. So I guess I owe some props to Dave. Thanks
buddy! As for Slayer... Hmmm... Much better with Dave. Dave if
your out there somewhere watching, Kind Suicide drums are for you.
There is no better feeling than playing on stage in front of a bunch
of crazy metalheads. To see the pit raging only makes me play that
much better. Each show is different. Every metalhead knows, they
have no idea what the pit will hand them from one show to the next.
In the future I see Osmium skyrocketing, maybe not to
super-stardom, but at least being known throughout the world as one
of the most kick-ass metal bands ever to grace the earth
ROB
Hey, how goes it fellow metal heads!
Osmium has grown to be a huge part of my
life from the day I joined these guys 4 years ago. Our aggressive,
intense, yet original style of metal carries a groove that can't be
denied!
Having played guitar for quite a few years now, my style of playing
has been largely influenced by bands like Slayer, Metallica (their
older stuff mind you :), Sepultura, and Testament. Since we have
recently played with national acts such as Testament, that makes me
come to the conclusion that we are definately moving in the right
direction.
In order to truly experience metal, you must witness the chaos,
lawlessness, and brutality of the pit. This band is what I thrive on and I
contribute to it as much as it has contributed to my life. Nothing less.
 So let's mosh! Motherfuckers!!!
SHILO
Hey what's up? I'm Shilo. I'm 23 years old and originally from San
Jose Ca. I've been around musicians my whole life, but seriously
started getting into playing guitar when I was 12. Now ten years
later, I live in Santa Clara, Ca. where I formed my first band called
Encased.
Encased was together for about a year. We played a few shows and
recorded a six song demo. During that time I met Osmium. Osmium
had a room at the same studio as Encased and would often stop by to
hang out. I was still jamming with Encased when Osmium asked me if
I wanted to join them. Coincidently, Encased was a short term project
where all the members had other bands to play in. Now that project is
done, and here I am!
Being a new member of Osmium,it took some time getting used to their
Style of playing.
But through many bong hits and beer bashes, it hasn't been all that
tough. Although faster and heavier than my former band, adapting to
the style almost seems natural. I've now been jammin with Osmium
for awhile and have learned their material. In joining, I've added my
writing style to the already jammin groove of the band. Now with a
new dimension of possibilites, this band is sure to be one of the best.
I will never forget my first show with Osmium on Dec 9, 1996. It was
the shit!!!
BRIAN
So, I'm 20. Anyway, I live in the Santa Cruz mountains. I spent my
whole childhood climbing trees and hiking in the mountains. I started
playing guitar about 8 years ago. I met Rob around my freshman
year in high school. We became friends pretty fast and he helped me
progress in my playing. So sound like I'm a guitar player right?
Wrong. About a year and a half ago, I met a guitarist in class who
asked my to be the bassist for his death metal band. I had never
picked up a bass in my life, but I said "What the hell" joined the
band. I had been playing with them for about a year when Rob told
me Osmium was looking for a bassist. So I figured my band was
going no where, so I auditioned and got the spot.
Around the time of joining Osmium, I had reached a stopping point
In my music. After playing with themI now have a whole new
direction in my music.
